AUSTIN, Texas – The St. Edward's University volleyball team will kickoff its home-opening weekend Sept. 8-9 with the Hilltopper Classic, and in addition, will play host to Hilltopper Classic Tailgate Sept. 9 at the Recreation and Convocation Center.

Fans, alumni and parents are encouraged to register online at bit.ly/VBTGate17 and participate in the tailgate ahead of SEU's Sept. 9 matches with UTPB (Noon) and Black Hill State (4 p.m.). Setup for the event begins at 10 a.m. with the primary tailgating time between matches, and participants are encouraged to bring grills, food, beverages and chairs for the festivities. The Hilltopper Cheer team will perform at 2 p.m.

The SEU Volleyball team kicks off its 2017 campaign on the road Sept. 1-2 at the Eckerd College Invitational in St. Petersburg, Fla. The Hilltoppers are coming off an 11-18 overall record in 2016 and a 9-5 Heartland Conference record. The team returns nine letter winners to the floor for the upcoming season.
