AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's University head women's tennis coach Kendall Brooks announced the signing of England native Kate Malazonia Thursday afternoon.
 
Malazonia makes up the other half of the 2018 class after the Hilltoppers inked Iolanda Perim in November.
 
"I'm really excited about Kate joining our team. She's got a lot of athleticism and competitive experience, which I think will help her make an impact right away," said Brooks. "More importantly, she seems to have a lot of passion for tennis and competition, which I love. She is a good student as well and so overall I think it is going to be a great fit for her here on the Hilltop next year."


 
Malazonia is listed at 5-9 and played at St. Paul's High School in Birmingham, England. She placed third in the Ladies National Club League in 2016 and 2017, and was a semifinalist in the AEGON British Tour in 2016.
