St. Edward's University Athletics

Joseph Byrne, along with his brothers, were some of the first students to attend St. Edward’s University. Bryne was at St. Edward’s from 1878 to1883 and from 1888 to1892. He participated on the St. Edward’s University baseball team as shortstop and pitcher. During the 1891 and 1892 seasons, he combined the role of player, captain and manager.
