St. Edward's University Athletics

Zapata attended St. Edward’s from 1964 to 1968 and lettered in track all four years. He was the winner of the Memorial Track Award in 1968 and was named Trackman of the Year in 1968. He was the Big State Conference Sprint Champion during his junior and senior years. He is retired and resides in Laredo, Texas.
