DALLAS, Texas - As of Monday afternoon, the Heartland Conference now has a new Men's Tennis Player of the Week recipient, and it is none other than Hilltopper Senior PATRICK CLYNES. Clynes helped set the tone for the Hilltoppers against conference-rival Dallas Baptist in their Heartland Conference opener Saturday afternoon. Clynes won both his doubles and singles match from the No. 1 position to help St. Edward's power through its match in 9-0 fashion.

Clynes' record on the year is 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles. He's helped lead a young Hilltopper tennis team to a 2-1 record and a first-place tie atop the conference with rival St. Mary's.

Head Coach Estevem Strecker said of Patrick's recent performances, "He's been on fire so far. It speaks volume about the type of competitor he is. He has the ability to, not only improve himself, but also make his teammates better. It is also great to know that your top player can take care of business when needed."
