St. Edward's University Athletics Compliance

St. Edward’s University is committed and obligated to the principle of institutional control in operating its athletics program in a manner that is consistent with the letter and the spirit of the NCAA, Lone Star Conference, and university rules and regulations.

The Compliance Office coordinates, monitors, and verifies compliance with all NCAA requirements, and educates various university constituencies and the community on NCAA Division II regulations. The Compliance Office is dedicated to providing educational programs and interpretive support to ensure that all individuals involved in the athletics program understand and adhere to the university’s compliance expectations.

The goal of the Compliance Office is to educate, oversee, and monitor the intercollegiate athletics program while maintaining a positive compliance environment. NCAA rules stipulate that anyone involved in actively supporting or promoting the athletic interests of the University must follow NCAA guidelines. This specifically includes individuals considered representatives of athletic interest (boosters).

NCAA legislation prohibits individuals who are not employed by the St. Edward's University Athletic Department from being involved in the recruiting process. There are a number of rules governing the actions of interested supporters of SEU Athletics. Violations, regardless of intentions, could jeopardize the prospect’s or the student-athlete’s eligibility to compete for Hilltopper Athletics and could bring NCAA sanctions upon the SEU Athletic program and the University.
