Sharlie Brooks joined St. Edward's as the assistant cross country coach in June of 2018. She comes to St. Edward's after a two-year stint as the graduate assistant coach for cross country and track and field at the University of North Georgia. There, she helped guide the Nighthawks to a 2017 Peach Belt Conference cross country championship and saw four individuals earn conference titles in track and field in the spring.

As a collegiate athlete, Brooks was a four-year letterman at the University of Auburn-Montgomery for the cross country team where she was a an all-district performer and served as team captain. She achieved numerous academic honors and placed significant efforts in community service in her time as a collegiate athlete.

In addition to her graduate assistant position with UNG, Brooks also served as a staff coach for the Nike Smoky Mountain Running Camp, and prior to her arrival in Georgia, she was an assistant track coach at the Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, Ala.

Brooks graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Administration-Marketing from Auburn University at Montgomery in 2016 and achieved a master's degree in business administration at the University of North Georgia in 2017. Brooks grew up in Troy, Ala. and ran cross country at Charles Henderson High School finishing in 2012. Brooks resides in Austin.
