Recreation and Athletics Center
The Recreation and Athletics Center (RAC) built in 1987, is the main hub for Hilltopper Athletics. The RAC contains all athletic staff offices for the 11 varsity programs, 1 co-ed team and campus recreation as well as administration. The main gym seats up to 1,300 spectators for volleyball and basketball competitions. The gym is also used for numerous special events including graduations, seating up to 2,300 people, gymnastics meets, banquets, special presentations including the annual freshman common book speaker and the biannual presidents meeting. Other uses for this space include informal recreation, intramural leagues, dance shows and volleyball tournaments to name a few. It has two regulation volleyball and basketball courts.
The RAC has two different meeting spaces available. The smaller meeting space known as the Ed Norris Room or Trophy Room is used for numerous meetings and comfortably holds 20-25 people. Additionally on the second floor of the RAC is a large multi purpose classroom that is used for numerous classes during the day as well as film sessions, team meetings and an array of different purposes in the evenings and on weekends.
The RAC also contains a state-of-the-art fitness center that was added January 2020. The RAC has four racquetball courts used for Kinesiology classes, informal recreation and intramural leagues.
The athletic training room was also renovated in the spring of 2012 and contains new taping tables and cabinets, new sport flooring to help in rehab of injuries and all the modern modalities for treatment of injuries.
