Final Results

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The St. Edward's Women's Golf team outshot the field by 13 shots in the final round to win the Sonoma State Regional Fall Preview Tuesday morning at the Foxtail Golf Club. HALEY HAUGHT shot a final-round 68 to win medalist honors. The NCAA West Regional will be held at Foxtail GC in May.

St. Edward's (303-296=599) opened the day seven shots behind leader Western Washington (296-314=610) but held steady while other teams faltered. With Western Washington finishing second, Chico State (301-312=613) would finish third.

"It feels awesome to pick up a win," head coach Jennifer McNeil said. "We have struggled all fall in round one, but managed to battle back in round two. I am excited for the spring, and the opportunity to put two rounds together."

Haught (76-68=144), who started the day in a tie for 12^th place shot a four-under 68 for her best round of the year. This was her first victory of the season and sixth of her career at St. Edward's.

"This win was really special," Haught said. "It was our last tournament of the fall, and my last fall tournament of my career. I am really proud of my teammates for playing well today. Having a team win, plus an individual win is a lot of fun."

Haught led the tournament in birdies (nine), par-3 scoring (1-under), and par-5 scoring (3-under).

"It was nice to see Haley shoot a low round today," McNeil said. "She played really well, but will no doubt tell you she could have played better. That is a sign of a really great player. I am very proud of her and the team."

MARISSA BRANSBURG (74-75=149) had her best finish of the season to date, ending all alone in fifth place. JOHANY RIVERA (75-77=152) finished with her first top-10 finish of the season, tying for ninth place. SANDY LIVAS (78-76=154) was two strokes better in her second round and moved up to a tie for 15^th place. BRIANNA VOGEL (78-89=167) ended tied for 37^th place.

This will end the fall season for St. Edward's. They will be back in action Feb. 16-17 when they take part in the Lady Rattler Invitational. The 36-hole tourney will take place at the Dominion Country Club in San Antonio.
