Full ResultsCANYON, Texas – St. Edward's University Cross Country closed its season this weekend at the NCAA Regional meet hosted by West Texas A&M. The Hilltopper's were represented by
JOHN DANIELS on the men's side and
KATY GILLIS,
VICTORIA MAYORGA and
RACHEL FREI on the women's side.
Gillis led all Toppers with a 64
th-place finish in the women's 6,000-meter race, finishing in the top half of a field made up of over 160 runners. With no team score, St. Edward's closes the season with three first-place finishes on the season; two for the men and one for the women.
"We had solid improvement from several of our student-athletes with times and how they finished among others in the conference," said head coach David Chandler. "It was a good first season in the process of building this program into one with a national presence."
Finishing right behind Gillis in the women's race was Mayorga in 83
rd while Frei rounded out the day finishing just outside the top 100. Daniels turned in a time of 34:32.00 in the men's 10,000-meter race. He finishes the season as the men's top performer overall.
