SAN ANTONIO, Texas – HALEY HAUGHT shot a two-under 70 in the final round of Tuesday's Lady Rattler Invitational to take home medalist honors and lead the St. Edward's Women's Golf team's charge to second place at the Dominion Country Club. The victory was the second for Haught this season and sixth of her four-year career.

Haught (79-70=149) started the day on the par-four fourth hole. She birdied that hole and followed with another birdie at the par-three fifth to get off to a great start. She ran into trouble at the ninth and 10th hole with bogeys. That would bring Dallas Baptist's Kirsten Pike into the mix as the pair was tied for a handful of holes. Haught settled down to make par on holes 11 through 17. She would put the individual title out of reach for her opponents with birdies at the 18th and capping off her round with a birdie on number three.

"I was very proud of Haley's performance this week," head coach Jennifer McNeil said. "The conditions were not good but she dug in and took her game to another level.

Pike (78-74=152) finished in second with her teammate Sydney Williams (80-74=154) finishing third.

MARISSA BRANSBURG (83-80=163) shot three better than her first round score as she tied for 16th place. JOHANY RIVERA (83-82=165) and SANDY LIVAS (85-80=165), along with ISABEL MORALES (84-81=165), who was playing as an individual, ended tied for 23rd place. Livas rallied, carding birdies on two of her last four holes to move up 10 spots from day one. BRIANNA VOGEL (83-84=167) ended the tournament in a tie for 34th place.

Dallas Baptist (321-304=625) took home the team championship, shooting the lowest round of day two. St. Edward's (328-312=640) shot 16 shots better on day two to move from fourth place into second. West Texas A&M (327-319=646) tallied a third place finish.

The Hilltoppers have placed in the Top-3 in all five tournaments this season so far.

"I was happy to finish second as a team, but I also felt like we could have shot lower," head coach Jennifer McNeil said. "But, given the conditions, I'll gladly take second and run."

St. Edward's will be back in action Monday when they open play at the St. Edward's Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole event will take place in Austin, Texas at the Onion Creek Country Club.
