AUSTIN, Texas – The St. Edward's women's golf team improved 21 strokes from round one to move up to a third-place finish in the final round of the St. Edward's Invitational at Onion Creek Country Club Tuesday afternoon.

With temperatures in the 30s and a blustery wind, St. Edward's (321-300=621) shot the second-lowest round of the day. The third-place finish kept its streak alive of finishing in the top-three in all six tournaments this season. The streak also dates back to last season with eight regular season tournaments in a row.

"I am pretty pleased with our rebound today," head coach Jennifer McNeil said. "I'm not sure the temperature got above 35 today, so I feel like we hung in and battled hard to move up to third. I'm still looking forward to the day we put two good rounds together, but I know it's coming."

JOHANY RIVERA (79-72=151) led the way for the Hilltoppers as the freshman tied for the third lowest round of the day. She would end up with her best finish as a Hilltopper, placing fourth. This was her second top-10 finish on the season.

MARISSA BRANSBURG (79-75=154) continued the trend of Hilltoppers improving from round one as she shot four strokes better to end tied for seventh place. This was her third top-10 placing this year.

HALEY HAUGHT (82-75=157) improved seven strokes from round one to finish tied for 13th place, while SANDY LIVAS (81-80=161) and BRIANNA VOGEL (86-78=164) tied for 23rd and 30th, respectively.

Playing as an individual, JESSICA TAMEN (79-78=157) put together two solid rounds in her first action on the season. She would finish tied for 13th place. ISABEL MORALES (79-81=160) placed in a tie for 21st, while TAYLOR DILLINGHAM (81-90=171) ended in a tie for 38th place.

Indianapolis (311-295=606) ran away with the tournament win, besting the field of 12 teams by seven strokes. West Texas A&M (311-302=613) finished second, eight strokes ahead of the Hilltoppers.

Glory Jangthongsiri (73-69=142) defeated the field of 64 golfers. Brook Beagle (75-72=147) and Molly Ward (82-66=148) of Indianapolis finished in second and third place, respectively.

St. Edward's will be back in action March 2-3 when they travel to Winter Park, Fla. There they will take part in the Peggy Kirk-Bell Invitational hosted by Rollins College.
