Final ResultsMIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The St. Edward's Women's Golf team more than held its own in its toughest tournament to date this season, finishing seventh at the Barry Women's Invitational Tuesday afternoon.
St. Edward's (305-304-299=908) shot its lowest round of the tournament on the final day. The Hilltoppers bested four teams in the top-20 along the way, which included #3 Flagler College and #6 West Florida.
"I was happy with how we played today," head coach Jennifer McNeil said. "Our goal was team score improvement, and we accomplished that today."
HALEY HAUGHT (75-75-70=220) started the day in 20
th place, but fired a two-under 70 to move up to a tie for 10
th place. This is her fourth top-10 finish of the season.
"I was really glad to see Haley finish in the top-10," McNeil said. "Especially since we played against South Region teams that are loaded with ranked players."
JOHANY RIVERA (76-76-77=229) used her consistent play to finish tied for 34
th, while
SANDY LIVAS (76-78-75=229) improved her scores from the first two rounds to move up six spots to finish tied with Rivera.
MARISSA BRANSBURG and
ISABEL MORALES finished tied for 39
th and 62
nd place, respectively.
Annie Dulman won the individual title as she led Rollins College to the team championship.
The Hilltoppers will be back in action April 3-4, when they travel to take part in the Mustang Intercollegiate. The tournament will take place at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.
