Final Results

GRANBURY, Texas – HALEY HAUGHT, ISABEL MORALES and JOHANY RIVERA all finished tied for third place to lead the ninth-ranked St. Edward's Women's Golf team to the title at the 2015 Doc Housewright Invitational Tuesday afternoon. The Hilltoppers held off 18^th-ranked Tarleton State by one stroke to capture their second victory of the season.
 
The tournament was held at the Par 72, 5,855-yard Harbor Lakes Golf Club.
 
St. Edward's (298-301=599) defeated Tarleton State (301-299=600) for the fourth time in five tries this season. Twenty-first ranked Midwestern State (308-303=611) moved up a spot to finish in third place.
 
Morales (77-72=149) was outstanding in the final round, shooting even-par to lead the Hilltoppers. The tie for third was her career best and the 72 was one off of her career low. Freshman Rivera (76-73=149) produced her second top-5 performance of her young career, and the 73 was also one off from her career low. Haught (72-77=149) produced her sixth top-5 performance of the season. The trio teamed up to shoot two-under par on all par-5's and combine for 14 birdies in the tournament. Tarleton State's Casey Wild (71-75=146) took home medalist honors, while Midwestern State's Brenna Moore (72-76=148) finished one stroke ahead of the St. Edward's trio in second place.
 
MARISSA BRANSBURG (73-84=157) and SANDY LIVAS (78-79=157) both tied for 28^th place.
 
"I am really happy to end our regular season with a win," St. Edward's Head Coach Jennifer McNeil said. "Isabel and Johany were huge for us today. We are doing a nice job of playing as a team and gaining momentum heading into the conference tournament."
 
The Hilltoppers will be back in action Monday when they take part in the Heartland Conference Golf Tournament. The 36-hole, two-day event will take place at the Slick Rock Golf Course in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. The Hilltoppers are the defending conference champions, and have won seven of the last eight titles.
