Final Results
WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The St. Edward's men's golf team wrapped up play on Tuesday at the Midwestern State Invitational, finishing fourth.
Senior
ANDREW SPEAR carded five birdies on his way to a tie for 24
th place at +14 227.The Hilltoppers shot +19 on the day, and +48 overall to keep its fourth-place standing from day one. SE Oklahoma State captured the team title +32, while St. Mary's finished second overall at +36.
HILLTOPPER NOTES
- Senior Elliot Azoulay (75-72-77=224) was the high finisher for St. Edward's. The Paris, France native ended tied for 14th place. This was his second top-15 finish this season.
- Senior DILLON VAN ESSEN (76-75-75=226) tallied 12 pars in his final round. His consistent play helped him tie for 22nd place.
- Sophomore ANDREW SPEAR (78-75-74=227) finished the tourney with eight birdies. Five of those birdies came in the final round. Spear tied for 28th place.
- Seniors JOEY HEARN (71-77-80=228) and JAY HOGAN (76-79-77=232) rounded out the scoring for the Hilltoppers tied for 31st and 45th, respectively.
- St. Edward's blitzed the field in par-5 scoring. The Hilltoppers shot -10 as a team. Rogers State (-1) was the next closest team.
- The Hilltoppers defeated three ranked teams in the field: #30 Arkansas Tech, #42 West Texas A&M, and #49 Oklahoma Christian.
