SEU HIGHLIGHTS
-Junior
JOHANY RIVERA (73-70=143) was outstanding in the final round. The Spring Branch, Texas native started her round off with bogeys at holes four and five. She got a shot back at the Par-5 sixth hole before a bogey at hole 12, placed her at two-over par. That is where the seasoned Rivera showed her experience. She made three-straight birdies on holes 13-15, then capped off her round with three-consecutive pars to finish one-under. In the field of 90 golfers only four under-par rounds were shot during the two-day event.
-Sophomore
ANA SOFIA BENAVIDES (76-74=150) continued her strong start to the fall as she finished tied for sixth place. This was her second Top-10 finish so far in 2016-17. Benavides carded the only eagle for the Hilltoppers during the tournament to go along with three more birdies on the final day.
-Senior
SANDY LIVAS (76-80=156) finished in the top half of the field for a second-straight tournament as she tied for 17
th place.
-Senior

th place, while senior

QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH JENNIFER MCNEIL
On the team's play today: "It has been way too long since we have had a win, and this one feels amazing. It was a tough day with high winds but we held in there and kept grinding."
Â
On the play of JOHANY RIVERA: "JoJo played a solid two days of golf. I am so happy she was able to pull out the victory. I know it killed her to sit out last spring, so maybe this will erase that memory for her."
