Final Results

HORSESHOE BAY, Texas – Senior ELIOTT AZOULAY recorded his third straight sub-par round Tuesday to finish second and lead St. Edward's to a 13th-place finish at the Golfweek Invitational.
 
St. Edward's shot 62-over and finished 13th out of 18 teams. Second-ranked West Florida won the tournament at 12-over, while top-ranked Lynn (+17) was a close second. Five of the top 10 teams in the nation were competing in the event.
 
HILLTOPPER NOTES

• Azoulay (71-69-70=210) was one of two golfers to shoot under-par in all three rounds. In the final round, Azoulay was perfect, compiling two birdies and 16 pars.
• Azoulay finished tied for second with 14 birdies during the tournament. He defeated 25 ranked players, including nine players ranked in the top 25.
• DILLON VAN ESSEN (71-85-72=228) started his final round off with bogeys on four of his first seven holes. The senior rebounded with birdies on six of his final 11 holes to finish at even-par.
• Sophomore ANDREW SPEAR (83-84-75=242) and senior JOEY HEARN (79-83-84=246) rounded out the scoring for the Hilltoppers tied for 67th and in 77th, respectively.
• Senior JAY HOGAN was forced to withdraw from the tournament on day one due to injury leaving the Hilltoppers with just four players.

"This was a great field, and one of the best we will see this season. Unfortunately, we were down to just four guys this week, which puts a lot of pressure on the other four players. We had some good rounds, but we also had some bad ones. You can't hide a bad round when you only play four guys."
 
On the play of ELIOTT AZOULAY
"This was a great finish from Elliot, considering that the field was filled with players in the top 100 nationally. He might not have played his best round, only hitting six greens today, but he still shot 2-under and was bogey-free."
 
UP NEXT
This marks the end of the fall season for St. Edward's. The Hilltoppers will be back in action Feb. 13-14, 2017, when they take part in the Matlock Invitational at the Lone Palm Golf Club in Lakeland, Fla.
