THE RUNDOWN
WICHITA FALLS, Texas – In a competitive race at the top, St. Edward's men's golf team placed fourth Tuesday, closing the 54-hole tournament with a 289 and a three-round total of 867. Midwestern State won its own tournament at the Wichita Falls Country Club with an 854 (288-277-289) and Texas A&M-Commerce and Regis were the only other teams to finish ahead of the Hilltoppers.

DUSTIN LEWIS placed sixth, finishing the tournament at just one-over par (71-72-71=214) marking two top-10 finishes for Lewis in his first three events as an SEU Hilltopper.
BEN CONSTANCIO and
ANDREW SPEAR tied for 17th place as SEU's next-best finishers. Spear broke 70 for the first time this season in the final round Tuesday with a 69, matching freshman
JARED BRAY's second-round 69 as the lowest score in a round for SEU in the event.
Out of 15 teams in the tournament, five were Heartland Conference teams and SEU placed first among those schools. Texas A&M-International (fifth), Rogers State (ninth), Dallas Baptist (10th), St. Mary's (11th) and Newman (14th) also competed in the event.
HIGHLIGHTS
•   Junior
DUSTIN LEWIS turned in a consistent performance, shooting even par in rounds one and three, and just one-over par with a 72 in round two, to place sixth in the event. Lewis' other top-10 finish this season came in the opener at the Ryan Palmer Invitational, Sept. 11-12.
•   Lewis was tied for fourth among the 84-man field in Par 3-scoring for the event, finishing at one-under.

ANDREW SPEAR broke 70 for the fourth time in his career Tuesday with a third-round score of 69 to jump to a tie for 17th place. Spear shot a 218 (76-73-69), and it was his highest finish of the season.
•   Spear's 69 is tied for the second-lowest round of his career (68, RD1, St. Edward's Invitational, March 27, 2017).
•   Spear and
JARED BRAY (2nd round, 69) tied for the lowest round among Hilltoppers in the tournament.
•   Bray led all Hilltoppers with 10 birdies in the tournament.
•   Freshman
CARLOS TERCERO competed as an independent and tied Spear and Constancio for 17th place overall with a 218 (75-72-71).
