THE RUNDOWN
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – In St. Edward's final women's golf tournament of the fall, junior
ANA SOFIA BENAVIDES jumped from a tie for 25th place to a tie for eighth Tuesday, and the No. 17-ranked Hilltoppers followed suit with an eighth-place team finish at the Flagler Fall Slam.
The two-round event, played at the Marsh Creek CC, saw Barry win the event with a two-round total of 585 (292-293) while SEU finished with a 602 (299-303).
Benavides shot a one-under par 71 Tuesday in her second round, following Monday's 75 giving her a top-10 finish for the second time this season. The rest of the Hilltoppers finished between 26th & 47th in the 98-woman field.
HIGHLIGHTS
•   Benavides collected her second top-10 finish of the season and the ninth of her career Tuesday.
•   Benavides tied for the lead among all competitors in the 36-hole tournament in par 4 scoring, finishing at two-under par for the tournament.
•   Benavides' 71 Tuesday was her lowest round of the season.

NICOLE TEGO's first-round 74 Monday was her lowest round of the season.

SAMMY HUANG was SEU's next-best finisher behind Benavides with a tie for 26th place.

WHAT'S NEXT
The HIlltoppers concluded their fall season with the Flagler Fall Slam and won't compete again until February.
