Final Results

OWASSO, Okla. – St. Edward's sophomore ANA SOFIA BENAVIDES repeated as individual champion to lead the women's golf team to a title Tuesday at the Hillcat Classic.
 
Benavides (71-73-76=220) inched out a one-stroke victory over fellow Hilltopper JESSICA TAMEN (72-74-75=221). Junior JOHANY RIVERA (74-79-73=226) shot the lowest round of any Hilltopper in the final round to tie for fifth place.
 
HILLTOPPER NOTES

• St. Edward's wins its second team title of the season.
• The Hilltoppers won the UCO RCB Bank Classic during the fall season.
• Benavides shot 3-over on all par-4s to lead the tourney and tied for team high in birdies (8) with Rivera.
• Benavides captured the 2016 Hillcat Classic individual title as a freshman.
• Benavides collected her team-high fifth Top-10 finish of the season.
• Tamen led all players in scoring on par-3s with a 2-under score for the tourney.
• Tamen also tied for the tournament lead in pars made with 40.
• Rivera played her final 15 holes at 1-under par to work her way up the leaderboard.
• Seniors ISABEL MORALES (74-73-82=229) and SANDY LIVAS (77-78-81=236) completed the Hilltopper scoring, tying for eighth and 20^th respectively.

UP NEXT
The Hilltoppers will be back in action April 3-4 at the West Texas A&M Desert Invite. The tournament will take place at the Ventana Canyon Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
