Final Results

AUSTIN, Texas – Senior ELIOTT AZOULAY shot a 1-under 69 Tuesday to lead St. Edward's men's golf to a fifth place finish in the St.
Edward's Invitational at Onion Creek Country Club.
 
The Hilltoppers (286-284-285=855) passed fellow Heartland Conference member Dallas Baptist (288-280-292=860) on the final day while also defeating No. 43 West Texas A&M (284-289-303=876).
 
Midwestern State (282-285-282=849) rallied to win the team title, coming from 12 strokes down. The Mustangs' Jared Baker won medalist honors, defeating Missouri Southern's Connor Neil on the second playoff hole.
 
HILLTOPPER NOTES

• St. Edward's played the first six holes at 8-under par as a team.
• The hot start placed the Hilltoppers in second place as first-day leader Cameron was just even-par after six holes.
• Three Hilltoppers birdied their final hole to push St. Edward's up the leaderboard.
• Azoulay (73-72-69=214) carded five birdies on his way to tying for the tournament lead with 13 overall.
• He started and ended his final round with birdies as he shot his lowest round of the tournament.
• Sophomore ANDREW SPEAR (68-72-74=214) tied Azoulay for 12th place.
• Senior JOEY HEARN (74-76-70=220) shot the second lowest round on the team Tuesday as he birdied his final three holes.

"We played our best round of the week. The conditions were a little tougher today. We led the field in birdies as a team; we just made too many mistakes. We need to limit those mistakes when we play these same teams next week in the DBU Tournament. Another strong finish in that tournament is needed to solidify our spot in the NCAA Regional."
