HORSESHOE BAY, Texas –
Junior
JOHANY RIVERA carded three birdies on her back nine Tuesday, to lead St. Edward's women's golf to a third-place finish at the Heartland Conference Championship.
St. Edward's (309-299-301=909) surpassed Rogers State (307-300-303=910) in the final round to move to third place. Dallas Baptist (291-304-293=888) took home the team title and St. Mary's (298-307-293=898) finished as runner-up.
HILLTOPPER NOTES
- After making four birdies in her first two rounds combined, Rivera carded five birdies in the final round.
- Rivera bogeyed her first hole of the day but responded with five birdies over the next 12 holes.
- Rivera improved her score in each of the three rounds.
- St. Edward's finished second in the tourney in Par-4 scoring with a 4.35 average.
- Senior JESSICA TAMEN (79-80-74=233) made the biggest jump of any Hilltopper, advancing eight spots to tie for 21st place.

UP NEXT
The Hilltoppers will wait and see if they are selected to compete in next month's NCAA DII West Super Regional. St. Edward's was ranked sixth in last week's West region poll.
