LAKELAND, Fla. – Freshman
CARLOS TERCERO shot the lowest round of his young collegiate career Tuesday and the St. Edward's men's golf team placed 11
th out of 15 teams at Florida Southern's Matlock Invitational at the Lone Palm Golf Club.

Tercero's 69 in round three gave the rookie a tie for 36
th place, which was best among Hilltoppers. Junior
COLEMAN HOUSTON shot a 220 (73-74-73) for the lowest 54-hole score of the season.
SEU (294-297-291-882) maintained 11
th place throughout all three rounds of the tournament. The hosts, Florida Southern took the victory with an 835 (280-276-279).

CARLOS TERCERO shot three-under par for the final round Tuesday and birdied four holes in the final 18.

SEU Head Coach Todd Ohlmeyer on the opening weekend …
"We would have liked to play a little better, but there were some positives to take from this week. We know that we can't give away so many shots on the scoreable Par 5s. We will be better next week that's for sure. Carlos [Tercero] played an outstanding round today and it should give him some confidence heading into our regional matchup at St. Mary's."
