THE RUNDOWN
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The No. 19-ranked St. Edward's University women's golf team tied for seventh place at the Mustang Intercollegiate at the Palm Valley Golf Club Tuesday, finishing with a 36-hole total of 601 (298-303).
 
JOHANY RIVERA was the top finisher for the Hilltoppers in a tie for 19^th place (72-75-147) and SAMMY HUANG tied for 33^rd (73-76-149). Dallas Baptist took the tournament title (282-282-564) and SEU tied with Regis for seventh place.
 
ROUND ONE HIGHLIGHTS
• JOHANY RIVERA tied for fifth among the field with seven birdies, and she tied for sixth on Par 5s for the tournament finishing at three-under par.
• SAMMY HUANG tied for third among the field with 27 pars.
• Shanelle Tafoya's two-round total of 156 was the lowest 36-hole score of her career.

The Mustang Intercollegiate was the final tune up before the Hilltoppers compete for the Heartland Conference Championship April 22-24 at the Slick Rock Golf Course in Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
