THE RUNDOWN
TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 18-ranked St. Edward's women's golf team jumped three spots to finish ninth out of 17 teams Tuesday at the West Texas A&M Desert Invitational, played at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon.

Senior JOHANY RIVERA tied for ninth place individually with a 151 (76-75) and each of the top four golfers on the SEU squad improved scores from round one to round two.

After an opening-round total of 324 Monday, SEU shot a 314 to close the tournament Tuesday with a 10-stroke improvement. West Texas A&M and St. Mary's split the title with a two-round total of 600.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
• Rivera tied for ninth place, which was her sixth top-10 finish of the season and the 19^th of her career.
• Rivera led the field with nine birdies.
• ANA SOFIA BENAVIDES tied for 10^th with 22 pars among the field.
• SAMMY HUANG was SEU's second-best finisher at a tie for 26^th place; she shot a 156 (79-77).

The Hilltoppers compete Monday and Tuesday in Phoenix at the Mustang Intercollegiate hosted by Western New Mexico at the Palm Valley Golf Club.
