Men's golf drops final match at Battle of the Belt


FINAL RESULTS

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. –
St. Edward's dropped the final match to Henderson State, 4-1, in the Battle of the Belt on Tuesday at Hot Springs Country Club.

The Hilltoppers advanced to the championship match of medal match play, but were upended by the host Reddies in the finale.

CLAYTON KING led St. Edward's on the individual leaderboard, as the junior carded a three-round score of 225 (73-75-77) to tie for eighth place overall.

AUSTIN COTTON and ANDREW ZOBAL tied for 12th place, as each posted a 227. Zobal moved up the leaderboard after shooting a final-round 74.

BEN CONSTANCIO was the only Hilltopper to win his matchup during match play, defeating Henderson State's Christian Woods by five strokes. Constancio finished tied for 17th with JAKE LIVERMORE, as both shot 231.

Meanwhile CARLOS TERCERO posted a 232 (76-78-78) to finish tied for 20th place overall.

The fall schedule has concluded for St. Edward's. The team will return to Austin and prepare for its spring slate, which tees off Feb. 3 at the Jack Brown Memorial in Laredo.
