AUSTIN – With 30 seconds remaining, Regis used a coordinated counter attack and scored the only goal of the contest to hand St. Edward's its third 1-0 loss of the season Sunday afternoon at Lewis-Chen Family Field.Â
St. Edward's had the most dangerous look of the game before the game-winning goal by the Rangers. In the 88th minute,
REAGAN DYKES' shot from left of goal careened off the bottom of the crossbar and landed at the feet of
SARAH GUNDERSON. Gunderson's quick shot sailed just high and out of harm's way.Â
After an SEU yellow card the Rangers started their counter, bringing the ball down the near sideline.
EMILY RAMos played the ball to Carly Bych streaking into the box and Bych played a low crossing ball to the feet of Tori Rinsem who one touched the ball in the back of the net for the game winner in the 90th minute.Â
St. Edward's led 17-9 in shots and 6-2 in corner kicks, controlling the tempo the majority of the game.Â
The loss drops the Hilltoppers to 1-3-0 on the season. They remain at home to face Angelo State on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.Â
