MIDLOTHIAN – The No. 13 St. Edward's men's tennis squad edged 16th-ranked West Alabama, 4-3, on Saturday.

St. Edward's started out strong, securing the doubles point, after winning two of three doubles matchups. The 13th-ranked team of
CHASE BARTLETT and
ANISH SRINIKETH defeated Noah Johansen and Nuuti Jokinen, 6-2, which was followed by
LUIS DIAZ and
ZAC ROBINSON downing Patricio Nieto and Anton Lof, 6-2, at #3 doubles. The #4 ranked team of
ABHI RAMIREDDY and
JESSE WIKSO narrowly fell to Christopher Bulus and Ilari Vesanen at #1 doubles, 6-5.

The Hilltoppers started off singles with a win, as
GABRIEL ZUNIGA secured his contest with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at #5 singles. SEU and UWA would each then earn a point, with Luiz Diaz falling at #4 singles, 6-4, 6-2, and
ABHI RAMIREDDY downing Nuutti Jokinen at #6 singles, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. Sriniketh secured the victory for SEU with a 7-5, 7-5 victory at #1 singles over Christopher Bulus.
JESSE WIKSO fell short of Ilia Dehodiuk, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 and at #2 singles Bartlett fell to Ilari Vesanen, 6-7, 6-3, 1-0.
