FAIRFAX, Va. – St. Edward's University Athletic Department had ten student-athletes named as 2020-21 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars. The Arthur Ashe Jr. Award recognizes those who have achieved high standards of scholarship, athleticism, and humanitarianism.
Each year the publication
Diverse: Issues in Higher Education honors student-athletes of color who have made achieving both academically and athletically a winning combination. To be considered for the award, student-athletes have to compete in an intercollegiate sport, maintain a cumulative 3.2 GPA, and be active on their campuses or in their communities.
Volleyball had the most honorees in this year's class with three while men's track and women's soccer had two each.
