LUBBOCK, Texas – St. Edward's softball sustained another loss to the No. 11-ranked Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps, falling 5-2 to drop the series' third game. 
Lubbock Christian put two runs on the scoreboard early, getting RBI doubles from Hope Banales and Kasey Flores in the bottom of the first. 
St. Edward's broke through for its first hits in the fifth inning to score a run. After two outs to start the inning, JORDAN NEELY singled through the right side, and ALEXIS MASSIE doubled to right center. Then, ARIANNA VIDALES drove in Neely with an infield single. 
Flores added more runs for Lubbock Christian with a two-run blast over the left-field fence in the sixth. Amanda Valdiviezo added another run with an RBI infield single in the same inning. 
ELLA HUTZLER reached second on an error to lead off the seventh inning. YVONNE CASTILLO pinch ran for her and advanced to third on a wild pitch, then scored on a groundout by MEGAN MORRIS. 
St. Edward's drops to 19-14 with a 13-11 conference record after the loss. The Hilltoppers will host Cameron University for a doubleheader on Friday, Mar. 31, starting at 1:00 p.m., followed by a single game Saturday at noon.
