St. Edward's Athletics announced Michael Kinsey as its first SEU Athletics Faculty/Staff of the Year Award winner during Tuesday night's awards ceremony and end-of-year banquet, the Goatspy Awards. 
 
The SEU Athletics Faculty/Staff of the Year Award is presented to a non-coach or athletic trainer member of St. Edward's faculty or staff who makes a significant positive contribution to the collegiate careers of student-athletes. 
 
Nominations were presented from every team, with the top selections from each sport honored in a pregame ceremony during each sport's Faculty and Staff Appreciation Game. From that list of nominations, a committee of athletics administrators, coaches, and sports information staff selected the winner. 
 
Among all the team nominations, Kinsey was the one faculty and staff member who was nominated by every sport. Kinsey previously served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor and Athletics Life Skills Coordinator.
