EDMOND, Okla. — St. Edward's dropped both games of its road doubleheader at No. 12 Oklahoma Christian on Sunday, falling 4-2 in the opener and 7-0 in the finale.
In Game 1, the Hilltoppers broke through in the fifth inning, using baserunners and a two-RBI single from
SLOANE HILL to take a 2-0 lead.
HALEY CARMONA limited damage through the first five-plus innings, but Oklahoma Christian tied the game in the sixth on a two-run home run.
After St. Edward's went scoreless in the seventh, the Eagles capitalized on an error in the bottom half before a walk-off two-run homer completed the comeback. The Hilltoppers finished with seven hits but left multiple opportunities on base in the 4-2 loss .
In the second game, Oklahoma Christian took control early with a five-run second inning, highlighted by a two-run home run and multiple run-scoring hits. St. Edward's was limited to four hits and did not score, despite extra-base hits from
HANNA ZACHARY and
ALEA DESERRANO. A two-run homer in the sixth added to the margin as the Eagles secured a 7–0 win .
St. Edward's totaled 11 hits across the doubleheader but was held to two runs, while Oklahoma Christian used timely hitting and three home runs to complete the sweep.
