AUSTIN, Texas — St. Edward's University Athletics welcomes Tesha Kraszkiewicz as its new Head Athletic Trainer, Director of Athletics Dr. Jim Sarra announced on Monday.
Kraszkiewicz joins St. Edward's Athletics after serving as head athletic trainer at St. Michael's Preparatory Catholic School in Austin, where she oversaw sports medicine services for more than a dozen athletic programs while coordinating athletic training coverage, injury prevention, emergency care, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols.
She also managed CPR/AED certification programs, developed emergency action plans, concussion management protocols, and supervised student interns.
"We are thrilled to welcome Tesha Kraszkiewicz to St. Edward's Athletics. Tesha brings a strong blend of athletic training experience, emergency care, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and student-athlete-centered support," Sarra says. "What stands out most is her passion for being at St. Edward's and her clear commitment to serving our student-athletes, coaches, and campus community with professionalism, compassion, and purpose. Her experience as both a practitioner and instructor will make an immediate impact on the Hilltop."
Kraszkiewicz is a familiar face at the Hilltop, serving as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Kinesiology, teaching First Aid & Safety courses. She also provides athletic training coverage as a contractor throughout Central Texas.
Before Austin, Kraszkiewicz spent two years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Ada High School through Select Medical, establishing a partnership between the school and a physical therapy clinic to provide year-round, comprehensive care and rehabilitation for student-athletes. Earlier in her career, she was an Injury Prevention Specialist through Select Medical WorkStrategies Program, and the Head Athletic Trainer at Sehome High School in Mill Creek, Wash.
Kraszkiewicz is a nationally certified and Texas-licensed athletic trainer. She earned her Master of Athletic Training from Oklahoma State after completing her bachelor's degree in kinesiology at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. She is also a Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED instructor and holds certifications in Basic Life Support and ergonomic assessment.
As St. Edward's Head Athletic Trainer, Kraszkiewicz will oversee the athletic healthcare programs for all of St. Edward's varsity athletic programs. Her responsibilities include coordinating injury prevention and treatment, rehabilitation, emergency medical response, and return-to-play protocols; managing medical documentation; and collaborating with team physicians and healthcare providers to support the health and well-being of Hilltopper student-athletes.
