Junior (2013): Played in all 22 games starting in eight of them…in 1,014 minutes she recorded six goals and three assists…tallied 38 shots with 21 shots on goal…had 15 points over the year…she scored a notable goal against Rogers State (10/13) for a 1-0 victory for the Hilltoppers.
 
Sophomore (2012): Played in 21 matches while starting six of them…played in a total of 1,032 minutes…recorded 51 total shots with 27 of them reaching the goal…leading scorer (16) for the #1 scoring team in the nation…recorded five assists on the year…second in the Heartland Conference in goals and points (37)…scored all of her 16 goals in the final 16 matches of the season, after going scoreless in first five…had four game-winning goals… she recorded a hat trick against Oklahoma Christian (10/13).
 
Freshman (2011): Played a total of 18 games while starting four for the Hilltoppers…recorded a total of 697 minutes during the season…she netted two goals for a total of four points…her two goals came during the first two matches of the season versus Angelo State (9/2/11) and Washburn (9/4/11)…totaled 12 shots and seven of them reached the goal for a .583 shots on goal percentage.

Club: Played under Coach Rob Ferguson on the Lonestar Soccer Club…her coach described her having a unique combination of athleticism, technique, and tactical understanding of the game…he also added that she has the ability to control games from central midfield both in attack and defense.

Prep: A multi-sport athlete at Westwood High School…lettered four years on the soccer team and one year on the basketball team…in 2007 she earned second-team all-district honors…she followed that up with first-team all-district honors in 2008…her efforts landed her on the 2009 all-region team…throughout her time at Westwood, she guided her team to multiple playoff berths…she made it all the way to the regional finals in 2010…academic all-district her sophomore through senior seasons.

Personal: Mikayla Beth Engel was born on July 2, 1993…daughter of Ron and Terri Engel of Austin, Texas…has one sibling: Chelsea (29)…currently a business major at St. Edward’s…enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, and running track…she also enjoys listening to music…her biggest athletic thrill is scoring a goal when it is most needed.
