The St. Edward's University athletic department has a long history of success in both NAIA and NCAA competition. 

As a member of NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference, St. Edward's University, has captured 62 conference titles, advanced to the NCAA tournament 78 times and has produced 83 All-Americans and 95 Academic All-Americans since 1999.

St. Edward's University is recognized as one of "America's Best Colleges" by U.S. News & World Report, and it has been recognized by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity. Located in Austin, Texas, with a network of partner universities around the world, St. Edward's is a diverse community that offers undergraduate and graduate programs designed to inspire students with a global perspective. St. Edward's is a private, liberal arts, Catholic university in the Holy Cross tradition with more than 5,300 students. 

2015-2016 was one of the most successful years in school history:
-St. Edward's University Student Athletes had a 92% academic success rate which was tied for 16th highest in Division II.
-St. Edward's also finished 55th out of over 300 schools in the Learfield Sports Directors Cup which ranks all schools by division for the athletic success by post season appearances and how far they advance in each sport counting up to 14 sports per university
-St. Edwards University sent 7 of 13 teams to the NCAA National Tournament.
