St. Edward’s University named Alexis Bandin as head coach of its softball program in June 2026.
Bandin arrives on the Hilltop with experience at the NCAA Division I, Division II, and NAIA levels, bringing a coaching philosophy grounded in development, discipline, and connection. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation for developing pitchers and catchers, identifying talent on the recruiting trail, and building cultures that emphasize accountability, academic success, and long-term growth.
Bandin joins the Hilltop after serving as assistant coach, recruiting coordinator, and pitching coach at the University of Texas at El Paso, where she ran the Miners’ pitching staff while overseeing recruiting operations, compliance, budgeting, scheduling, and team travel. She also collaborated on opponent scouting, game strategy, academic support, and community engagement.
Before UTEP, Bandin served three years as an assistant coach at Prairie View A&M, helping guide the Panthers to three consecutive Southwestern Athletic Conference Western Division championships and the 2023 SWAC Championship. During her tenure, she developed multiple All-SWAC pitchers and catchers while contributing to recruiting, scouting, and day-to-day operations.
She also served as an assistant coach at NAIA’s Union College (Ky.) in 2020, helping the team to a 14-7 record and 3-1 mark in conference play before COVID-19 canceled the season. Earlier stops at Shorter University, Mesa High School, and the RedHawks Softball Organization shaped a coaching approach centered on individualized instruction and relationship building.
Bandin earned a Master of Business Administration in Sport Management from Shorter University after receiving her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Charleston.
