Andrew Haring

St. Edward's welcomed Andrew Haring as its new associate director of athletics for external operations in April of 2025.

Haring will oversee all external efforts, including sports information, marketing, corporate partnerships, licensing of athletic marks, assisting with the overall strategic direction for the athletics department, and implementing strategic initiatives.

Haring joins St. Edward's after founding and serving four years as director of the Greywolf Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides resources to assist people and entities in need, increasing opportunities for success and better communities. While directing all activities, including fundraising initiatives, engagement opportunities, and donor stewardship, he helped raise and deliver over $300,000 in financial support to over 100 local charitable organizations.

Before joining the Greywolf Foundation in 2021, Haring worked in college athletics for 30 years, most recently as an associate director for major gifts at Northwestern University. There, he participated in a capital campaign that raised over $450 million for Wildcat Athletics.

Prior to Northwestern, Haring spent five years as the Associate Athletic Director for Advancement at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  In that role, Haring was a member of the department's senior staff and oversaw all aspects of fundraising and alumni engagement for UIC Athletics and other external responsibilities. During his tenure, UIC Athletics experienced increased fundraising every year from 2015 to 2018. It established record marks for Giving Tuesday fundraising and attendance at the UIC Athletic Hall of Fame and athletic alumni events.

From February 2010 until December 2013, Haring was the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations at the University of Texas-Pan American. While at UTPA, he provided management for several departments, including fundraising, marketing, promotions, corporate sponsorships, licensing, tickets, and media relations. Additionally, Haring oversaw several sports programs, including cross country, track and field, and tennis.  Haring led a staff that increased overall department revenue by 260 percent from 2010-2013. He also helped boost sponsorship dollars by 372 percent during that same period.

Before Texas-Pan American, Haring spent over three years at Texas-San Antonio, supervising the athletic development office, game operations, marketing initiatives, and spirit squad oversight. After his first year, he was promoted to assistant athletic director for Development.

From 2005-2007, Haring worked as the Assistant Director of athletic development at Northern Illinois, advancing the NIU giving program and maintaining several significant donor and sponsor accounts.

Haring began his career in college athletics, working with basketball programs at Wabash Valley College and UIC. As an assistant coach at Wabash Valley College, he helped the team to a seventh-place finish at the 1996 NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. He then worked nine seasons as the Director of Men's Basketball Operations at UIC, during which time the Flames earned four postseason appearances, including NCAA Tournament bids in 1998, 2002, and 2004.

Haring earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a master's in Sports Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While at Illinois, he served as a student manager and later as a graduate assistant for the Fighting Illini men's basketball team, which advanced to the Final Four in 1989.
