Brandon Silvera brings more than 20 years of professional playing and coaching experience to the college game. A former professional player, Silvera competed in Jamaica, Major League Soccer, Sweden, and Thailand before transitioning into coaching and player development.
Silvera has extensive collegiate coaching experience, having served as a volunteer assistant at Northwestern University, an NCAA Division I program and member of the Big Ten Conference, as well as coaching positions at Roosevelt University and Olivet Nazarene University. He has also worked with the University of Chicago as a volunteer men’s goalkeeper coach. His collegiate experience includes recruiting, player development, game and training-session management, program organization, and helping student-athletes develop both on and off the field.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Silvera has held leadership positions within the youth game, including Boys Director at Chicago KICS FC, MLS NEXT Academy Coach with Chicago FC United, and Director of Coaching with Premier FA San Antonio. He currently serves as an ECNL girls coach with FC Westlake, where he focuses on developing players within a high-level competitive environment.
A USSF B License and Concacaf B License holder, Silvera also holds additional qualifications in goalkeeping, futsal, and football data analysis. His coaching philosophy centers on developing technically and tactically intelligent players, creating a structured and demanding environment, and helping athletes understand the game while building confidence and accountability.
Throughout his coaching career, Silvera has been recognized with multiple coaching honors, including CCAC Coaching Staff of the Year awards and the 2022 US Club Soccer Coach of the Year. He was also part of the US Club Soccer National Championship-winning staff with KICS FC in 2022.
Silvera earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from GC Foster College in Jamaica. His combination of professional playing experience, collegiate coaching, recruiting, and player-development expertise continues to shape his approach to developing the next generation of student-athletes.
