Victor Delgado

Victor Delgado joined the St. Edward's University Sports Medicine staff in 2026 and serves as the athletic trainer for the Hilltoppers' men's basketball and men's soccer programs.

Delgado comes to the Hilltop after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of South Carolina, where he was the head athletic trainer for Fairfield Central High School. In that role, he provided medical coverage for practices and competitions across 10 sports, developed individualized care plans for more than 300 student-athletes, coordinated care with physicians, parents, and coaches, and managed emergency action plans and departmental policies.

While at South Carolina, Delgado also worked with the Gamecocks' men's and women's swimming and diving programs, providing injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and return-to-play care for approximately 70 student-athletes. He gained additional experience through medical coverage at Gatorade Sports Summer Camps and numerous championship events, including South Carolina Youth Soccer tournaments, rugby competitions, cross country state championships, and University of South Carolina football.

Delgado earned his Master of Science in Advanced Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina in 2026, where his graduate research focused on sleep quality in military cadets. He received bachelor's degrees in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 2024.

As an athletic training student at Texas, Delgado worked with Longhorn football, tennis, track and field, and McNeil and Connally High Schools. He also completed NFL internships with the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons, further broadening his experience in sports medicine.

A Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer, Delgado is certified in Graston Technique and Dry Needling and is bilingual in English and Spanish. His clinical interests include injury prevention, rehabilitation, manual therapy, and helping student-athletes perform at their highest level while returning safely to competition.
