On Monday, in the series finale against Oklahoma Christian, the redshirt junior from Humble, Texas went 4-for-4 with four home runs and six RBI to help St. Edward’s to a 10-5 win over the Eagles. With his performance, Cortina not only leads all divisions for home runs in a single game this season, but he is also tied for second in NCAA Division II history, and St. Edward’s history, for the same feat. The only other player to hit more was another Hilltopper, Josh Hamilton, who hit five against Panhandle State in 2003.
