St. Edward's junior golfer JOHANY RIVERA was named Heartland Conference Golfer of the Week on Wednesday afternoon for her efforts Sept. 28-Oct. 4. The award is the first of the season for Rivera and third in her career.

Rivera was outstanding in her final round at the UCO RCB Bank Classic as she finished the two-round tournament at one-over-par (143). The seasoned Rivera showed her experience with three-straight birdies on holes 13-15, then capped off her round with three-consecutive pars to finish one-under. In a tough field of 90 golfers, only four under-par rounds were shot during the two-day event. Her victory helped lead the Hilltoppers to a team victory.
