AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward’s men’s soccer goalie John Kaschak earned his second-consecutive Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week Award for the week of October 2–8. This is Kaschak’s sixth Heartland Conference Weekly accolade of his career.
 
Kaschak added two more shutouts over the weekend with a 4-0 win over Oklahoma Christian and a 2-0 win against Dallas Baptist. The two victories increased his overall record to 6-1-1 and a 2-0 start to the Heartland Conference season. Kaschak has now guided the team to three-straight shutouts and a #7 national ranking in the NSCAA most recent poll.
