Final Results
AMARILLO, Texas – JOSE HERNANDEZ finished the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite in a tie for second place at the Tascosa Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. The Hilltoppers finished in a tie for fifth place with Colorado-Colorado Springs. The two-day tournament consisted of 17 teams and 96 golfers.
Hernandez shot a five-over 76 during the final round, which gave him a three round total of 210. Throughout his three rounds, Hernandez knocked in 12-birdies and was five-under par on par-5 holes on the course. He finished tied for second with Colorado Mines' Michael Lee. Kirby Gorzell of St. Mary's edged out both golfers by one stroke to take home the individual title.

Todd Ohlmeyer commented on Jose's performance, “I know Jose is disappointed with today, but he will learn from this experience and get better. He is one of the best players in the country and he will continue to prove this throughout the year.”
BRIAN SMITH finished the third round by shooting a 74. He finished the tournament in a five-way tie for 21
st and a three-round total of 217.
DREW BELL shot a 72, which was a team best for the third round. Bell finished the tournament with a stroke total of 220 and tied for 32
nd. This was his best career performance in his young career.
ANDRES RODAS shot an 80 to finish the tournament in a seven-way tie for 56
th place. Rodas' three-day total equaled 227.
ENRIQUE LIVAS was four-over par shooting a 75 for a 66
th place finish. He finished the tournament shooting a 229 during the three rounds.
Coach Ohlmeyer had this to say about his team's performance, “Obviously as a group we are disappointed with today's round but we showed signs of the team we can be. We were in position to win today but didn't convert. We will learn from this experience and be better because of it.”
St. Edward's will close out the fall portion of the schedule with a trip to Seaside, Calif. to participate in the Otter Invitational. The 2011 NCAA Division II National Champion Cal. State-Monterrey Bay team hosts the tournament. The tournament will take place on October 22-23 at the par-72, 6,900-yard Black Horse Golf Course.
