Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – ANDREW FOX scored two goals and
JOHN KASCHAK recorded his second shutout of the season helping the Hilltoppers defeat Oklahoma Christian 2-0 on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Lewis-Chen Family Field. Fox leads the team with seven goals.
ANDREW FOX got the first chance of the game just three minutes in, but his shot was blocked. Fox got his second chance of the game minutes later and was successful in this attempt. He knocked in a 10-yard header. The keeper was out of position after a deflection and Fox was in the right place and took advantage of the goalkeepers miscue.
The offensive attack continued for St. Edward's with multiple shots by Fox and
KYLE RUCK, but neither were able to find the back of the net.
DANIEL RILEY connected on his chance during the 20
th minute scoring his eighth goal of the season to give St. Edward's the 2-0 advantage.
NATE COONS provided the assist on a cross from the near post. Riley jammed home the one-timer for the goal.
The game slowed down after the goal by Riley with neither team showing any offense until
ADAM BONVILLE scored his second goal of the season during the 37
th minute. Bonville knocked in the volley from about 15-yards out.
KARL DEZOETEN assisted on the play. St. Edward's went into halftime leading 3-0.
The game displayed physicality and offensive urgency early in the second period. The Hilltoppers fired five shots and committed six fouls during the 25-minutes of the second period.
Fox put the stamp on the match during the 71
st minute of the game.
SAM BURNS flicked the ball past the defender and Fox was able to dribble around the defender and beat the keeper far post. St. Edward's led 4-0.
KYLE RUCK and
KARL DEZOETEN had chances to score late, but Ruck's shot sailed high and Evan Heiker made the save on DeZoeten's opportunity.
The Hilltoppers dominated the game, outshooting the Eagles 21-1 for the contest. St. Edward's recorded 18 fouls while Oklahoma Christian only committed nine. The Hilltoppers had the advantage of four corner kicks to zero over the Eagles.

JOHN KASCHAK and his ability to organize our defense as well as the work rate of the entire team to defend."
Young concluded his statement; "We will need this as we face a team in Dallas Baptist on Monday who works extremely hard for the full 90 minutes."
