Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – The St. Edward's men's soccer team concluded the regular season with a 3-0 win over bitter rival St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon at Lewis-Chen Family Field. The Hilltoppers finish the regular season with a 12-3-2 overall record and a 7-1-1 Heartland Conference Record.

Head coach Brian Young commented on the four seniors, "All four seniors played well and contributed to the win today. They all had great soccer careers and all four of them are wonderful people."

DANIEL RILEY got the Hilltoppers off to a fast start with a goal during the 12th minute of play. Senior ANDERSON MCDANIEL provided the short cross and Riley headed it into the far post. It was Riley's team-leading 15th goal of the season. McDaniel got credit for the assist.

HAIDEN STILES put St. Edward's ahead 2-0 during the 37th minute. SAM BURNS fired a shot that was saved and the rebound found Stiles in front of the net in perfect position to score the goal. This was Stiles fifth goal of the year.

Just three minutes into the second period, ADAM BONVILLE put the Hilltoppers ahead, 3-0. McDaniel assisted on the goal for his second of the game. Bonville received a through ball from McDaniel and beat the keeper one-on-one for the goal. This was Bonville's fifth goal of the season.

Throughout the duration of the second period, St. Edward's remained on the offensive attack, but couldn't add to the lead. During the 80th minute, head coach Brian Young removed his four seniors from the game and the crowd at Lewis-Chen Family Field gave them a standing ovation as they exited.

Young commented after the game, "Hopefully with these last two wins since the last NCAA ranking, two teams idle this week and one team losing who were ahead of us will add to our chances of making the NCAA Tournament."

The Hilltoppers now await word from the NCAA on whether or not they will advance to the NCAA Regional Round. St. Edward's is currently on the outside looking in, but with two victories this past week and a Heartland Conference Championship, they hope it is enough to advance.
