Box Score ODESSA, Texas – The St. Edward's volleyball team got back to its winning ways by defeating UT-Permian Basin in three sets on Saturday afternoon. The Hilltoppers swept the Falcons by a score of 25-22, 25-22, 25-22. St. Edward's concludes the regular season with an overall record of 15-14 and a 12-6 record in the Heartland Conference.
The first set was tied at 21 apiece until the Hilltoppers scored on four of the next five points.
AMY JONES had two kills in that span and
HANNAH RAUCH added another to enable St. Edward's to take the set 25-22.
Trailing 20-18 in set two, the Hilltoppers would go on a 7-4 run to take the set 25-22. Kills were made by Jones, Rauch, and Elisa Stanton during the stretch.
In the third set, UT-Permian Basin took an early 7-4 lead in a span that saw St. Edward's make five attack errors. The Hilltoppers would earn six of the next nine points to even the score at 10 apiece. The Hilltoppers trailed 21-20 later in the set, but would take five of the next six points to take the set 25-22.
TABITHA ELDER,
MARY KOEHLER, and Rauch each had a kill in the 5-1 run.
Koehler recorded another double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs.
KELLY JIMENEZ led St. Edward's with 20 digs while
LOREN KELLY had 25 assists.
