Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's scored 63 second-half points to run away with a 109-90 victory over cross-town rival Huston-Tillotson Thursday evening at the Recreation and Convocation Center. The Hilltoppers snapped a three-game losing streak and the 109 points against the Rams were the most since 1997-98 season when they scored 113 points in a victory over the same team.

St. Edward's (3-3) opened the game with a 19-6 run in the first five minutes. HARLEY NUSSMAN led the Hilltoppers with eight points and FRANKIE MGBOLU added six points of his own.

The lead grew to 15 points when RAMIR BURTON made a layup at the 11:30 mark to make it, 26-11. Huston-Tillotson(0-6) fought back, using a 31-12 run over the next eight minutes. The Rams were hot from outside as Devonta Davis and Darion Cooks each made three shots from behind the arc. Ronzelle Fort provided the scoring down low as he poured in seven points. The run gave Huston-Tillotson a 42-38 lead with 3:09 remaining in the first half.

Mgbolu tallied two buckets down the stretch as St. Edward's outscored the Rams, 8-2 in the final stanza to take a 46-44 lead into halftime.

In the second half, with Huston-Tillotson hanging close to St. Edward's, the Rams bench was whistled for a technical foul. JOHN GRAMLICH calmly hit two free throws. Gramlich followed with a three-point play to put the Hilltoppers up by nine, 55-46, with 17:33 left on the clock.

Gramlich did not stop there. After Nussman connected on a layup, Gramlich tallied seven-straight points to help St. Edward's open up a 20-point lead, 73-53, with 13:45 remaining. The Hilltoppers would coast from there as 13 of the 14 Hilltoppers players suited up scored at least one point.

Gramlich led the Hilltoppers with 21 points and four assists. Nussman narrowly missed a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds to go along with his two blocks. Mgbolu added 12 points, three assists and a game-high five steals. JAMES STUKES had 10 points as he now has scored in double figures in every game this season. TYLER FOSTER had an outstanding game as he went 6-for-6 from the floor, and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe for 14 points off of the bench.

St. Edward's will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to take on Texas A&M-Kingsville. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Hampton Inn Court. Live video and stats will be available on the Javelina Athletic Website. The Javelinas defeated the Hilltoppers earlier this season, 82-80, in Austin.
