Box Score CLAREMORE, Okla. – Hilltopper junior TREY LINDSEY scored a career-high 30 points but that was not enough as the 23rd-ranked St. Edward's men's basketball dropped a 92-81 contest to Rogers State on the road Thursday evening at the Claremore Expo Center.

Rogers State (13-6, 7-4 HC) started the game off with a 6-0 run. Four of those points were from the charity stripe by Donald Moore in the game's first two minutes of action.

St. Edward's (16-3, 8-3 HC) fought back by scoring the next seven points to take a 7-6 lead, with 15:28 remaining in the first half. Lindsey would nail a three-pointer and buckets by RAMIR BURTON and FRANKIE MGBOLU led the way.

The Hillcats answered with a 14-3 run over the next four minutes to open up a double-digit advantage, 20-10, with 11:26 remaining. Rogers State had a pair of three-point plays to help the cause during the spurt.

The home team's lead would swell to 14 points on three occasions in the opening frame, but five points by JOHN GRAMLICH in the final three minutes kept the Hilltoppers close as they went into halftime trailing 44-35.

In the second half, Lindsey kept St. Edward's in the game. The junior from Austin, Texas netted 25 points in the second frame, shooting 5-for-7 from the field, canning three shots from downtown, and going 12-of-13 from the free-throw line. However, the Hilltoppers could get no closer than eight points from the Hillcats. DesJuan Newton tallied 16 second-half points and both Frederico Santos and Jeylyn Sharpe added 10 each.

Lindsey finished with 7-of-10 shooting from the floor that included four makes from behind the three-point line. The 30 points were the most by a St. Edward's player this season.

Gramlich added 19 points and four assists, while Mgbolu chipped in with 10 points.

St. Edward's will be back in action Saturday when they travel to take on Arkansas Fort Smith. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m. at the Stubblefield Center in Fort Smith, Ark. Live video and stats will be available on the Lion Athletic Website.
