AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's forward WHYTNEIGH DUFFIE continues to score big goals for the Hilltoppers, and Sunday was no different. The sophomore scored the game-winner in a 1-0 shutout of in-region rival Texas A&M-Commerce at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
 
After a first half that saw both teams limit scoring chances, the second half proved to be different. JENNIFER BOUDREAU drove down the left side of the field and cut the ball back towards the goal. Her cross went through the box and found Duffie on the back post. Duffie collected the ball and found the back of the net for her second goal of the year in the 50^th minute.
 
The Hilltopper defense would lock it down from there as they only allowed three shots by Texas A&M-Commerce in the second half, with none of them placed on goal.
 
The Lions would outshoot St. Edward's, 5-3, but it was the Hilltoppers who had two shots on goal compared to just one for the Lions.
 
St. Edward's will get back to Heartland Conference play on Thursday when they host UT-Permian Basin. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Lewis-Chen Family Field. This will be the first of four home matches to close the regular season for the Hilltoppers. St. Edward's has never lost to the Falcons, owning a 16-0 record against UT-Permian Basin.
