Full Game NotesSHUFFLING STARTERSLike most would expect from coaches with young teams, Head Coach Nick Cowell has used a plethora of different lineups this season. Nineteen players have started in various games for the Hilltoppers and 31 players have at least fiveÂ
appearances.Â
DEFENSE SHINES FOR HILLTOPPERSSt. Edward's scoring average of 1.94 goals per game is a little lower than years past. However, St. Edward's led the Heartland Conference in Opponent Goals allowed with a 0.61 clip for the season. Â
SANTOY'S LEADERSHIP SHINESLORRIE SANTOY saved a conference-low 47 shots, but it was her impressive .810 save percentage that had people talking. The first-teamÂ
all-Heartland Conference junior is best recognized for her excellent communication with the back line and has made a habit of getting to balls in the air before they can pose a threat the defenses. Â
UNDERCLASSMANÂ HELPÂ BALANCE OFFENSEÂ
The sophomores and freshmen have stepped up for the Hilltoppers and account for a majority of the team's scoring. Freshmen
SABRINA CONE and
MORGAN PALMER have tallied six combined goals on the season while sophomores
KELLY ANDRUS, and
WHYTNEIGH DUFFIE have put away aÂ
combined six goals in 2015.Â

KEY WINS ILLUSTRATE POTENTIALA 13-5 record is not too shabby and the Hilltoppers have taken down some major players this season. Earlier in 2015, St. Edward's defeated fellow regional participants Colorado School of Mines, 1-0 on the road (9/11) and later defeated Texas A&M Commerce, 1-0 in Austin (10/18). However, their most impressive win this season came in a home victory against the fifth-ranked University of Bridgeport in a 2-0 victory. The victoryÂ
helped the Hilltoppers rise to #9 in the National Polls and is the Purple Knights only loss this season.Â
DONAHUE SHOW VERSATILITYDespite racking up the awards for her defensive efforts over the years, senior
KATIE DONAHUE has proven to be quite the offensive force for the Hilltoppers in 2015. The Heartland Conference Player of the Year winner leads the team in goals (5), points (14) and is tied for the lead in assists (4).
FINDING THE FLAGSSt. Edward's has shown multiple ways to score this season, however the statistics show that they have found a niche of winning corner opportunities. St. Edward's led the Heartland Conference with 74 attempts, one more than the high powered offenses of Lubbock Christian and three more than rival Dallas Baptist.
